Organisations are operating in an increasingly complex business landscape where problems are intricate and interconnected. Meanwhile, the associated data is also growing in complexity, making it more challenging to extract meaningful insights, make decisions and access the right information at the right time.
More than a passing trend, generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) represents one of the most significant technological transformations facing businesses today. A game-changing force that is reshaping entire industries and our ways of working.
"By embracing the opportunity and power of GenAI, organisations will not only stay competitive but surge ahead."
Dave MacKenzie, Group Director, Digital & AI at Aurecon
Generative AI’s capacity to augment existing expertise by automating repetitive and time-consuming tasks, thereby boosting efficiency and productivity and creating time and space for innovation is ushering in a new era of operational excellence and organisational growth. Organisations that adopt GenAI are already unlocking tremendous value.
We deliver real world impact for our clients by leveraging Aurecon’s deep technical domain expertise in the infrastructure, energy, resources, and water sectors to power your AI-driven digital engineering solutions.
From formulating effective strategies and practical use cases to establishing robust architectures, we ensure seamless integration and optimisation of AI-driven solutions into organisational ecosystems.
Aurecon's integrated technical and advisory expertise allows us to drive organisational change for our clients, and help them build the digital capability they need to transform their operations.
The generative AI platform brings together Aurecon’s domain expertise with AI technology. More than just a chat-based interface, Aurecon Recall uses our engineering expertise to search, retrieve and generate responses, augmenting the expertise of our people, by improving quality and unlocking efficiency. Using Aurecon Recall is like having our experts at your fingertips.
Initially launched as a pilot, we have now extended this technology to help unlock critical knowledge that is otherwise trapped in lengthy documents, siloed project collateral, and dispersed across remote teams. Aurecon Recall’s Knowledge Agent tool harnesses the power of our clients' projects and organisational expertise, allowing organisations to build a custom knowledge base, then gather insights and efficiencies using a chat-based interface, powered by the latest GPT models.
Aurecon Recall’s superpower is its ability to retrieve information and connect disparate pieces of data across multiple dimensions in record time. It identifies what connections exist between different datasets, the obvious and the obscure, and shows us how we can extract more value from knowledge embedded in organisations.
Aurecon Recall utilises information from thousands of pages of our knowledge hubs, applying a rigorous and externally tested security model to manage permissions and confidentiality so that information can be benefited from safely. This means Aurecon Recall is powered by our deep technical domain expertise across infrastructure, energy, resources, and water sectors.
In collaboration with the Australian Water Association and International Water Association, we used Aurecon Recall to analyse 2,900 Ozwater conference papers against global trends, and provide insights on the evolution of Ozwater to guide future initiatives. Watch the video to learn more.
Aurecon's Generative AI team is pioneering state-of-the-art applications of GenAI. With a focus on data privacy, quality and robustness, we are a leading developer of fine-tuned Large Language Models (LLMs) for technical domains as well as Multimodal Models (MLMs), Synthetic Data Generation, and Model Fine Tuning and Deployment for technical organisations.
By working closely with our Data & Analytics and Digital Enablement advisory capabilities, our expertise also extends beyond technical aspects to include organisational transformations, risk management, and skill development across project and asset lifecycles. Our services include:
We transform unstructured information into structured formats, enabling easier analysis and interpretation. Additionally, our expertise extends to visualisation and explainability. We also provide quality and gap analysis, helping to identify any issues or discrepancies in the data, and leverage data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
We undertake data remediation ensuring that any issues or inconsistencies are identified and resolved. We also specialise in evaluating data sets at scale, providing thorough assessments of data quality and availability. In cases where there is a shortage of data, we employ advanced techniques to generate synthetic data, tailored to meet specific output requirements.
We create robust models that our clients own, ensuring cost-effectiveness and control over AI infrastructure. These models are tuned specifically for desired tasks, domains, and technical challenges, resulting in highly accurate predictions and insights. Additionally, we excel at deploying these models at scale, optimising efficiency and achieving high throughput, measured in queries per second (QPS).
We bring together AI Data Engineering and custom models to solve real world problems, developing bespoke Generative AI models and systems tailored to specific client needs. This includes technical knowledge access, specialised Generative tools with deep domain expertise, asset and design optimisation, process automation, or predictive maintenance.
ClaRFI is a digital tool built on generative AI that interprets complex RFIs (requests for information) and collects relevant data from multiple sources to guide responses. Trained on thousands of real-world RFIs, ClaRFI uses large language models to interpret questions, assess project documents, and generate first-draft answers in seconds. A user-friendly interface tracks the full RFI lifecycle — categorising, routing and managing requests to streamline collaboration between asset owners and developers, designers and contractors.
More than automation, ClaRFI supports subject matter experts by surfacing the right information quickly and accurately, enabling consistent, high-quality responses. On long-duration infrastructure projects, it helps retain and reuse critical knowledge, reducing the impact of personnel changes and improving information continuity over time. It is a game-changer with the potential to significantly improve productivity in construction. ClaRFI has already had demonstrable success, including up to 50 per cent time savings for developing responses to RFIs on construction projects.
Generative AI is transforming how data and information can be used to improve efficiency and productivity. Our partnership with Nomic, a leading AI startup, significantly enhances the use of generative AI in solving complex problems across entire asset and project lifecycles.
The partnership leverages Nomic's expertise and core technologies, integrated with Aurecon's generative AI solutions to provide clients with unique and state-of-the-art solutions. This alliance is a significant step towards bringing the latest technology to the most complex problems, unlocking the full potential of AI.
