Asia Pacific design, engineering and advisory company, Aurecon has signed a strategic partnership with Nomic, a leading AI startup. This collaboration aims to significantly enhance the use of generative AI in solving complex client problems across the entire asset lifecycle.
The partnership will leverage Nomic's expertise and core technologies, integrated with Aurecon's cutting-edge generative AI solutions to provide clients unique and state-of-the-art solutions.

Dave Mackenzie, Aurecon’s Managing Principal, Digital said, “Data is the very core of generative AI solutions and Nomic’s Atlas platform is a world leading solution which empowers domain experts to ensure their information is AI ready.”
“Our vision is to bring best-in-class solutions to our clients that solve real-world, difficult problems that will lift productivity, improve quality and increase speed to market across the entire asset lifecycle. At the core of complex problems is a tremendous amount of data which needs to be understood and leveraged to drive the best possible decisions.
“Our Nomic partnership means we bring world class talent and technology which can put our clients’ data to work on their problems at lightspeed, empowering their subject matter experts to ensure their data is AI ready using world leading technology.
Aurecon says the partnership will enable faster solutions in complex problem spaces, with already demonstratable success, including an up to 50% time saving on requests for information (RFI) on construction projects.
“Construction RFI response time is an industry wide challenge, and our solution can dramatically cut that response time and improve quality, underpinned by Nomic’s technology. This is just one way how generative AI can be applied to complex problems that can tangibly improve productivity,” Mackenzie said.
Generative AI is enabling asset-intensive companies to quickly consolidate and analyse asset and schedule information, providing greater insights into the current state of previously siloed asset information and project timelines.
“It means the right data gets to the right decision makers, fast,” added Mackenzie.

Nomic CEO, Andriy Mulyar, said “Aurecon’s expertise in engineering and design perfectly complements their mission to make AI accessible and explainable for all, without the delays typically associated with manual data analysis. Atlas allows anyone to explore, collaborate, curate and build with the kind of data that wouldn’t fit in Excel.”
“You can quickly turn millions of rows of messy text or image data into a powerful resource your whole team can explore and curate using Nomic's cutting-edge embedding and visualisation technologies.”
As industries face increasingly complex challenges, Aurecon’s partnership with Nomic is harnessing the potential of AI to solve some of the most complex engineering challenges, ensuring that data becomes a powerful asset in driving critical infrastructure projects forward.
In addition, it’s a way of tackling complex problems like climate change, the energy transition and enabling circular economy which require greater understanding and collaboration and where AI can be a democratising force for good.
This exclusive alliance marks a significant step towards the future of architecture, engineering and construction, where AI plays a central role in enhancing project efficiency and delivering superior outcomes. Nomic build’s explainable and accessible AI systems that enable anyone to explore, collaborate, and build with their unstructured data at scale, powering data-driven insights and AI workflows.
