Discover Aurecon in New Zealand

We are an owner managed company with long and proud history in Aotearoa New Zealand. The city-shaping projects we are part of will benefit New Zealanders for many years to come.

Having offices located in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Tauranga, Kirikiriroa Hamilton, Pōneke Wellington, and Ōtautahi Christchurch, means we are involved in all the largest infrastructure projects happening in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We are committed to building Māori cultural capability and developing enduring partnerships with mana whenua and Māori communities in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our Māori Strategy – He Rautaki Māori – sets out how we as individuals, and as an organisation, can work together to achieve an authentic commitment to te ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi (Treaty of Waitangi).

Watch this video to learn how Aurecon used He Rautaki Māori, in partnership with Warren & Mahoney and Ngāti Whatua Ōrākei, to deliver our award-winning Auckland office, Te Tihi.

Our diverse people and culture are what stands out the most. Our flexible working practices enable a work-life balance, no matter your personal circumstances. Explore your opportunities with us and learn why our workplaces and culture are right for you!

Where we work

Auckland
Tāmaki Makaurau

Te Tihi is Aurecon’s new Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland office found in the heart of Newmarket. A 6‑Star Green Star building, it is a curated space designed to encourage innovation, creativity and a sense of purpose and being. It also provides a cultural connection to its surroundings.

Throughout the design process, our team collaborated with representatives from Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, to develop an understanding of the history of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and how Aurecon’s culture integrates with that. Our teams ensured alignment with Aurecon’s He Rautaki Māori strategy weaving te ao Māori principles through the design process.

Located in the heart of Newmarket, Te Tihi is close to shopping and entertainment, which the area is known for, including Westfield’s 277 mall with rooftop dining and bars. Just down the road is the iconic Olympic Pool and Gym. Te Tihi is also close to all public transport including the Newmarket Train Station.

Wellington
Pōneke

Perfectly located in the centre of the CBD, close to Parliament, Government Ministries and Agencies, as well as private sector business, our Pōneke Wellington office makes it easy to meet with clients, industry colleagues, and friends.

Pōneke Wellington is known for its cafés and arts culture and boasts some of the best coffee and food outlets all within walking distance.

We have a relaxed and friendly culture within the office. Our flexible work practices mean our people can shape their day in a way that works best for them and their team, which might include enjoying the many outdoor activities Pōneke Wellington has to offer.

We also have an active social club with regular activities planned for all ages and groups of people.

Christchurch
Ōtautahi

Centrally located across from the Avon River and just down the road from the Te Pae Convention Centre, Aurecon’s Ōtautahi Christchurch office is close to all central activities the city offers.

The vibe in the Christchurch office is really relaxed, and because our office is easily accessible and not too big, people from across all teams get together for work and social activities and get to know each other well.

We have a legacy of people who have worked on the Christchurch Earthquakes SCIRT and the Kaikoura earthquake NCTIR. Experiences and projects like these create a shared bond and comradery.

The Christchurch office is working to make our workplace more environmentally friendly and sustainable. Efforts include aiming to minimise office waste, use organic and eco-friendly products with no plastic packaging where possible, hold sustainable events, replace all waste/recyclables bin signage, reduce detergent consumption in the kitchen and raise staff awareness.

Tauranga

Tauranga is a beautiful place, close to the Mt Manganui beaches, with great walking, hiking activities and mountain bike activities.

Our Tauranga office, on the CBD fringe on the Cameron Road corridor, is found within the main business district. Aurecon teams have worked on the Cameron Road multi-modal upgrade project to make the road safer, more attractive and provide people with more ways to travel.

An amazing culture and a smaller office make our people a tight knit team. There are diverse groups open for anyone to join, including groups for dog owners, surfing and cycling. Many of these groups head away over the weekend to enjoy the outdoor activities that Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty have to offer.
