Aurecon grows resources leadership team to provide commodities of the future.

Aurecon's newly formed leadership team will support clients through the energy transition and focus on helping clients reimagine the industry beyond decarbonisation.

10 March 2022 – International design, engineering and advisory company Aurecon has announced the appointment of former KPMG Director Engineering & Asset Management Ben Lambert as Industry Leader – Resources in an expanded leadership team responding to significant growth across heavy industries.

Alongside Lambert’s appointment, three Aurecon industry experts have been promoted to resources industry leader positions including Lilly Shen, Gerrit Strauss and Elisha Bellchambers.

Aurecon Managing Director, Resources Anthony Richardson said the newly formed leadership team will focus on helping clients reimagine industry beyond decarbonisation.

“As our clients commit greater investments towards navigating energy transition it increases the opportunities to enhance the productivity of assets, operations and commodities further,” Mr Richardson said.

“Ben’s enthusiasm and passion for the resources industry and track record for success in asset management and large, complex energy projects is impressive. His vast experience in process and systems engineering and focus on business performance will help to further shape critical minerals projects for our clients, particularly in aluminium.”

Based in Perth, Ben has 25 years’ experience across energy, oil & gas, mining and refining sectors as a process engineer with key skills in feasibility studies, development planning, risk management, commercial leadership and operational performance. Ben has led engineering, project and advisory teams across Australia and South East Asia, with the skills and experience to improve and optimise performance across the lifecycle of resources projects.

Lilly Shen, AureconLilly Shen

Resources Industry Leader, VIC & SA – Australia

Based in Adelaide, Lilly has more than 20 years’ experience across the mining, energy, oil and gas sectors with a deep understanding of the complete asset lifecycle from development to operation, maintenance and decommissioning of assets having managed significant capital and operational programs across multiple assets.

Gerrit Strauss, AureconGerrit Strauss

Resources Industry Leader, Iron Ore, WA & NT – Australia

Based in Perth, Gerrit Strauss has more than 25 years’ experience leading significant infrastructure and multi-disciplinary resources projects including mega mine and non-process infrastructure projects in remote communities throughout Africa, Australia, Chile and Canada.

Resources Industry Leader, QLD & NSW – Australia

Based in Brisbane, Elisha Bellchambers has more than 20 years of commercial experience across business strategy, financial performance, risk mitigation, asset management and data analysis in managing physical and other infrastructure assets. Elisha was previously the Chief Financial Officer at Quartile One, a key player in data-driven asset management that helped the resources sector meet the performance and pricing challenges of the commodity markets.
