Aurecon was named as the Large Firm of the Year 2017 during the Consult Australia Awards for Excellence

15 September 2017 – What does it take to be named Large Firm of the Year is a question global engineering and infrastructure advisory company Aurecon can now answer after claiming the title at the Consult Australia Awards for Excellence 2017.

Consult Australia is the peak industry association for consultants in the built environment sector and its annual awards are coveted industry accolades.

“We are thrilled to achieve this level of recognition and I congratulate all of our Aurecon individuals and teams for their industry-leading contributions. They are a result of strong, collaborative partnerships with our clients, contractors and alliance partners. We celebrate these successes with them,” says William Cox, Managing Director ANZ.

In addition to taking out the Large Firm of the Year title, Aurecon’s contribution to the industry and community were also recognised with the firm winning three Gold Awards and three Highly Commended Awards in six categories.

Gold Awards of Merit

Wynyard Station Upgrade Stakeholder Engagement – blending traditional and digital communication tools

Aurecon, as part of the Novo Rail Alliance, delivered an integrated and innovative communication and stakeholder engagement strategy to support the construction of the Wynyard Station Upgrade. Through traditional and digital communication tools, the team were able to effectively communicate and establish relationships with the community and passengers of one of Sydney’s busiest stations.

Sunshine Coast University Hospital – Australian excellence in sustainable healthcare design

Sunshine Coast University Hospital demonstrates Australian excellence in sustainable healthcare design. Key innovations on the project included rewriting the Green Star technical manual and the award of 10 out of 10 innovation points.

Aurecon Bridge Building Competition – encouraging the engineers of tomorrow 

The Aurecon Bridge Building Competition helps Year 8 and 9 students across Australia and New Zealand to develop their understanding of STEM subjects. They do this by building bridges using icy pole sticks, string, glue, and cardboard. Aurecon believes that by enabling students to learn the basic principles of engineering, they are helping develop Australia’s next generation of engineers.
