The JRL is Singapore’s seventh MRT line. Spanning 24km across 24 stations, the JRL will significantly improve the connectivity of the western region of Singapore and support the development of the Jurong region.
Aurecon was appointed as the lead engineering consultant to the DYJV for Contract J109 which has a contract value of S$320.4 million. Contract J109 is a design and construct package comprising three stations that span across a 3.6km viaduct.
The JE4 station will serve existing residential developments along Jurong East Central, places of worship and educational institutions, while the JE6 station will serve commuters travelling to and from the International Business Park.
The JE7 station will serve residents around Teban Gardens and West Coast Road, as well as places of worship and Commonwealth Secondary School which are adjacent to the station.
Aurecon had worked closely with the DYJV’s tender design and construction team to put forward a robust and cost-efficient design that leveraged a comprehensive 3D analysis and project methodology to ensure that space, cost and efficiency are optimised. As a lead consultant in this project, Aurecon will also advise on the detailed design encompassing civil structures, architecture, mechanical and electrical works.
Go Yang San (YS), Managing Director for Aurecon Singapore said, “We are excited to be working with the DYJV on this project. We look forward to contributing to the design and construct package of Contract J109 that will in turn, support the existing developments in the western area of Singapore as well as the future development of the next largest commercial hub outside of Singapore’s CBD.”
In addition to Contract J109, Aurecon is also working on Contract 102 – design and construction of JS1 station, JS2 station, JS3 station and a 4.3km viaduct. This includes A&A works to the existing CCK station for the Jurong Region Line with Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co (Singapore) Pte Ltd (STEC).
