Shaping the future of Asia’s transport networks

Asia’s transport networks are brimming with opportunity – transforming bustling cities into interconnected ecosystems, linking rural regions to centres of growth and turning everyday journeys into engines of economic potential. As the region continues to progress, momentum is building to invest in transport infrastructure that supports sustainable mobility and stronger connectivity.

Across the region, transport systems must do more than move people and goods; they must be resilient, efficient, and designed for the future, enabling cleaner and more integrated ways of moving through cities and across borders. Delivering this future requires an integrated approach grounded in technical excellence and long-term thinking. When rail, road, and transit systems are planned with foresight and resilience in mind, they unlock far more than mobility. They reduce travel times, expand access to jobs and education, and strengthen connection between cities and regional economies.

Explore Aurecon’s transport projects across Asia spanning rail, road, and integrated mobility systems. Discover how we bring to life innovative designs, precision engineering, resilient strategies, and sustainability frameworks to deliver quality projects and help create a more connected region.

Our stories from Jurong Region Line (J102)

Working within a live MRT station

Building within a live MRT station is one of the most demanding environments in urban rail engineering. At Choa Chu Kang station on the Jurong Region Line, Aurecon designed structural additions and alterations while the station remained fully operational. Aurecon developed design concepts compatible with the existing station structure, prioritising structural integrity, authority compliance, and commuter safety throughout.

Engineering around residential communities

Engineering in the heart of an existing neighbourhood demands precision and community sensitivity. At Choa Chu Kang West Station on the Jurong Region Line, Aurecon and contractor Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. navigated residential proximity, underground utilities, road median constraints, and active traffic. A key achievement was a 95-metre bridge spanning Brickland Canal using the balanced cantilever method to avoid placing any columns within the canal.

Designing a station with nature in mind

At Tengah Station on the Jurong Region Line, Aurecon engineered Singapore’s first seven-girder MRT span, a double-tier viaduct, and double-deck elevated station. Aurecon’s environment team also worked with nature groups and prepared an Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan to establish three wildlife crossings, protecting biodiversity and an ecosystem that supports 117 bird species, 12 mammals, and endangered species including the Leopard Cat and Sunda Pangolin.

What does it take to move Asia forward?

Progress across Asia's diverse and rapidly growing region calls for more than infrastructure – it requires a connected vision. Our work is built on four pillars: integrating services across various expertise, protecting the natural environments we pass through, connecting the communities we serve, and bridging the borders between us. Together, they form our blueprint for smarter, more resilient transport in Asia.

Integrated services

Bringing together design, engineering, and advisory to shape smarter, more resilient transport across Asia.

Protecting nature

Embedding sustainability strategies and impact assessments to help projects work in balance with the environment.

Connecting communities

Designing inclusive mobility solutions that improve everyday access, convenience, and liveability for people and places.

Bridging borders

Supporting cross-border infrastructure that makes regional journeys smoother and strengthens connections between economies and communities.

What will shape Asia’s transport future?

Asia's transport networks drive urban growth, trade, and community links. Our transportation systems must tackle climate risks, urban expansion, and evolving travel needs while remaining safe, affordable, and reliable. This means optimising existing assets, advancing rail-road-mobility integration, and balancing impacts on people, nature, and borders for resilient, network-wide performance.

Aurecon has built a strong track record delivering complex transport infrastructure across Southeast Asia, spanning urban rail and metro systems, major port expansions, and regional road networks. Our integrated teams of engineers, planners, and strategic advisors provide the technical expertise and commercial insight needed to manage risk, control costs, and drive projects forward with confidence.

We recognise that transport development in the region presents distinct challenges from complex engineering requirements, evolving regulatory environments, and tight delivery timelines. We partner closely with our clients across the full project lifecycle, from initial feasibility and design through to construction oversight and operations, providing the continuity and expertise that transport projects require.
