Aurecon has re-signed the Soldier On Pledge becoming a Platinum Pledge Partner; granted to organisations that have demonstrated outstanding results in all three focus areas of veteran recruitment, retention and workplace culture.

Damon Howes, Aurecon’s Defence & National Security Managing Director, said Aurecon has taken great strides in developing and advancing specific initiatives to provide career opportunities and skills development for veterans and their families.

Amongst a number of veteran engagements initiatives, we invest in at Aurecon, we have seen great success particularly since launching our dedicated Veteran Employment careers webpage where veterans, reservists and their family members can learn about employment opportunities with Aurecon.

“Our veterans’ portal encourages interested personnel to submit an expression of interest (EOI) form where we also offer other personalised employment support such as providing guidance on skills translation and CV writing, current employment opportunities, and making relevant connections across our network and industry partnerships. We’ve received over 250 EOIs in the last 12 months, which really shows how important supporting veterans, including through associations like Soldier On, really is.”

Aurecon’s Veteran Employment careers webpage has made it easier for candidates to get in touch with Aurecon’s Diversity Recruitment and Careers Manager, Karen Gallacher, with Senior Consultant Mathew Gore highlighting how supported he felt throughout the process.

“After submitting an EOI form through Aurecon’s Veteran Employment careers webpage, Karen got in touch with me and took the time to really understand my veteran background and the opportunities I was looking for. I was supported throughout the entire process, all the way through to a successful placement with Aurecon where I know my diverse skills and dedication are valued.”

Aurecon is proud to continue its journey with Soldier On in supporting employment pathways for veterans and their families, while also continuing to advance veteran engagement initiatives within Aurecon.
