Veteran Employment at Aurecon

Are you looking for a supportive and inclusive workplace where you can apply your skills with passion and purpose? Aurecon has a longstanding history partnering with the Australian Department of Defence and its communities to deliver capability outcomes.

We are a values-led organisation and provide a supportive community for recently transitioned veterans, currently serving Australian Defence Force reserve personnel, and family members of currently serving veterans. We know the value veterans bring to the workplace – the diversity of skills, thought, capability, and real-world experience that are invaluable and contribute to our success and the success of our clients.

At Aurecon, you can make a difference. This could be through continuing to support Defence in delivering capability outcomes or it could be exploring and supporting other sectors in bringing ideas to life.

Are you ready to embark on your journey with Aurecon?

Meet Mathew Gore

Mathew served in the Australian Defence Force for over 10 years. As a veteran, it was important for Mathew to join an organisation that values the unique skills and qualities veterans bring to the workplace.

"From the beginning at Aurecon, I was made to feel welcomed, and it was evident that Aurecon values the unique qualities that veterans bring to the table. The Veteran Employment program at Aurecon isn't just about providing job opportunities, it’s about establishing an environment where veterans can excel. An example of this has been the well-established internal Veteran Network, composed of Aurecon veterans who understand the challenges veterans face in the corporate world."

Nathan Rawes

Meet Nathan Rawes

Nathan is an Army reservist and has been with Aurecon for over seven years. During his time at Aurecon, Nathan has been able to progress his career while also pursuing opportunities within the military.

“Aurecon has been extremely supportive of my reservist duties, whether it be single days or compulsory service. In one instance, I was required to deploy within 24 hours. Aurecon’s local team assisted me as a priority to help handover projects, submit required administration, and supported my absence for what was an unknown period of time.

"Through Aurecon’s understanding of reservists and its network of veterans and active reservists, I have been able to obtain opportunities within the military that I may not have otherwise been able to gain.”

Larissa Cody.

Meet Larissa Cody

Larissa served as a full-time Army Engineer for 15 years before joining Aurecon. Larissa enjoys the connection she still has to the Australian Defence Force through her role at Aurecon with the added benefit of flexible working to support her family commitments.

“Aurecon welcomed me with open arms and I felt incredibly supported during my transition from Defence. Aurecon’s veteran network has provided me with an added sense of community and the ability to stay connected with my former role in Army. I love that I am still able to support the Australian Defence Force through my daily actions at Aurecon, whilst providing the location stability and flexible work hours that my family needs.”
