Aurecon’s Director, Defence & National Security Ian Layzell, together with Soldier On’s Interim CEO, Prue Slaughter, formalised the partnership at the signing ceremony on September 30.

Delighted to embark on this partnership with Soldier On, Ian said, “Aurecon proudly employs veterans and family members of veterans and recognises the value they bring to our organisation. Many Defence veterans have transitioned into Aurecon following their career in Defence, while many others are reservists who continue to serve while employed by Aurecon.”

“We are a values-led organisation and provide a supportive environment for veterans. Aurecon’s Defence Values of Co-creation, Excellence, Integrity, and Legacy share strong alignment with those of Defence and the values veterans hold.”

Aurecon’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is demonstrated through the recent appointment of Diversity Recruitment and Careers Manager, Karen Gallacher, who joined Aurecon from Soldier On. The newly created role focusses on further increasing the diversity of Aurecon’s workforce, with a particular focus on increasing the representation from veterans and people with disability.

In line with Aurecon’s pledge to support Soldier On’s vision to enable veterans and their families to thrive, Aurecon also acknowledges the unique support required within the workplace and provides a policy and framework for ensuring veteran engagement and support throughout their Aurecon journey.
