International design, engineering and advisory company Aurecon has relocated its Sydney office to 73 Miller Street, North Sydney, Cammeraygal Country with the new workplace design incorporating a series of sustainable, adaptable and inclusive elements to create appealing experiences for employees and clients.

Moving from its Military Road office in Neutral Bay, Aurecon’s 750 Sydney-based employees now occupy levels 9, 10 and 11 of 73 Miller Street, spanning 4,500 sqm. The newly renovated commercial tower features a 5-star Green Star rating and targets a 5-star NABERs energy rating.

Aurecon Managing Director for NSW & ACT, Rowenna Walker said, “We are excited to call 73 Miller our new Sydney home. Designed with people at the forefront, technology a key element, and acknowledging the cultural practices of the local Cammeraygal people through art and storytelling, the new office is going to be a campus that supports our unique culture, a meeting place that fosters a sense of belonging for all.

“Informed by our recent employee survey results, we identified a number of priorities for the new office set-up, including employee wellbeing, sustainability, accessibility and adaptability. After more than 30 years in our Neutral Bay office, this is an opportunity to create an enhanced client experience, a new way of working for our people and a new industry benchmark,” said Ms Walker.

Aurecon's commitment to diversity and inclusion resulted in special spaces created within the office, including a family room, Zen garden and mindfulness space.

Boasting multiple sustainability features, 73 Miller Street has extensive water, electricity and gas metering throughout the base building and fit-out, allowing facility management to constantly monitor consumption and adjust operations to optimise energy efficiency. The building also features rainwater and daylight harvesting, rooftop solar and sophisticated waste management.

“Our decision to transform an older asset into an appealing, modern office instead of selecting a brand-new building is another example of our promise to reduce Aurecon’s carbon footprint,” Ms Walker said.

The new office enjoys expansive city and harbour views while offering employees and clients easy access to public transport and end-of-trip facilities. Large floor plans and state-of-the-art AV systems are available to better facilitate both in-person and virtual collaboration.

Poised to become a dynamic business district, the Miller Street precinct is embracing a greater range of activities and unique public spaces for workers, residents and visitors.

Cox Architecture provided the interior design fit-out in collaboration with Aurecon alongside Aurecon’s engineering services. 73 Miller Street is owned and managed by ESR Australia.

With approximately 6,500 employees globally, Aurecon operates in 11 locations with offices across Asia-Pacific. Aurecon’s head office is in Melbourne and has a second New South Wales office in Newcastle.
