Maritime facilities design and management

Ensuring the safety and operational readiness of Australia's maritime facilities and assets is a critical component of operational readiness and preparedness for Defence across northern Australia’s maritime approaches. These facilities also serve as the backbone of the country's economic prosperity, regional stability, and disaster response capabilities. This underscores the need for continuous investment and innovation to ensure they remain resilient and effective.

At Aurecon, we have a long history of supporting Defence’s maritime facilities, being able to tailor design and programme and project management teams to suit the unique needs of each location.

Optimising asset management and performance, and our ability to design infrastructure, helps shape Australia’s maritime facilities in support of the country’s national security and economic requirements. During the design of new or upgraded infrastructure, there is a focus on the services required across the whole programme of works, and early supply chain engagement where input into the design process is required.

Using our asset performance expertise, together with digital asset data, we also design sophisticated sustaining capital programmes to extend the life of a facility’s assets and prioritise the timing of capital investments for better long-term planning.

Aurecon is the largest Australian employee-owned engineering consultancy. As an owner-managed company, we deliver genuine Australian sovereign capability.

Asset management and performance

Aurecon has significant experience working with asset-intensive industries, helping drive value through their asset management programmes and portfolios.

We bring diverse insights having worked with asset owners around the world in the markets we operate in, conducting data-driven studies and portfolio analysis to determine how changes in strategy or operations can make a difference on asset performance and productivity.

Through our work, we know that in order to achieve value from assets, data and decision-making must be intrinsically linked. By taking a disciplined and systematic approach to how data is used, connections are made between the information, cultural and communication aspects of an organisation.

Our experience managing, sustaining and designing assets for the markets in which we work provides us with in-depth knowledge and insights of the challenges faced in maritime sustainment.

Having worked in partnership with asset owners and senior executives, we understand the necessity to rapidly build trust through a process with known, repeatable, and consistent approaches. This is critical to reducing risk in asset portfolios, effectively increasing availability, and maintaining confidence in a sustainment system.
