Asia Pacific engineering consultancy Aurecon has won Gold in the high-profile 2026 Intranet and Digital Workplace Awards, recognising the company's initiatives to improve how technical knowledge is accessed, governed and re-used across the business.

Aurecon was recognised in the leading awards program – regarded internationally as one of the most prestigious in the digital workplace and employee experience field – for its enterprise-wide approach to creating a digital experience that helps Aurecon's people find trusted technical knowledge when they need it, supporting quality, consistency and professional accountability at scale.

For an engineering company with more than 6,700 people across 11 countries and 35 offices, access to trusted technical knowledge is fundamental to delivering quality and technical excellence for clients and communities.

Aurecon Chief Engineering, Eminence and Innovation Officer Tanya de Hoog said the critical nature of technical excellence and quality in the engineering industry meant that improving people’s access to trusted knowledge when they need it as part of their day-to-day work was incredibly valuable.

"This award recognises the collective effort of our Knowledge team in creating a more consistent and trusted experience for finding and applying technical guidance across our business," de Hoog said.

“At Aurecon we take enormous pride in ensuring quality in everything we do and making this knowledge readily accessible means our people can draw on the right information and expertise to solve problems and create better outcomes for our clients.”

The award specifically acknowledges Aurecon's Standardisation Initiative and Standardisation Library, which created a single governed source of trusted technical knowledge accessed by thousands of Aurecon people.

More than 600 contributors across Aurecon in Australia, New Zealand and Asia helped build the Library, bringing together technical experts, the Knowledge team, IT and delivery partners to combine knowledge management, governance and digital experience design in support of trusted technical knowledge.

Developed in partnership with Aurecon's technical communities, the approach strengthens confidence in the guidance people use every day while supporting more consistent outcomes for clients and projects.

The Library also includes an AI assisted knowledge agent that helps find guidance in the flow of work and is grounded only in verified, approved content from the Library, rather than external sources.

Lessons learnt through the initiative have informed the evolution of Aurecon's broader knowledge ecosystem, helping shape how trusted knowledge is organised, governed and accessed into the future, including AI-enabled ways of working.

The Intranet and Digital Workplace Awards are run by Step Two and are recognised internationally as one of the leading awards programs in the digital workplace and employee experience field. Now in their 20th year, the awards recognise organisations that are shaping the future of digital workplace and employee experience.
