Asia Pacific design, engineering, and advisory company Aurecon is proud to continue its long-standing partnership with SA Water, having been appointed to the utility’s refreshed Engineering Panel, including five of its six sub-panels, as well as SA Water’s Professional Services Panel, for the remainder of SA Water’s 2024-28 regulatory period and extending into its 2028-32 regulatory period.
SA Water is Australia’s fourth largest water utility and a leading provider of safe water services for more than 1.8 million people across South Australia.

This significant appointment will see Aurecon support the delivery of SA Water’s multi-billion-dollar 2024-28 capital program, with the potential for a further extension of up to four years. The program represents an unprecedented uplift in capital delivery, including for growth infrastructure, and reinforces the need for resource and delivery certainty from engineering providers.
With a dedicated team of approximately 350 professionals in South Australia, Aurecon will deliver the vast majority of the work locally, continuing to support South Australia’s labour market and foster the next generation of engineering talent.
This includes providing opportunities for local interns, graduates, and junior engineers to grow their careers while contributing to projects of state significance. Aurecon will also continue its commitment to creating opportunities that contribute to stronger, more resilient communities across South Australia through ongoing engagement with Aboriginal and regional businesses over the life of the panel.
Aurecon has been appointed to the following six panels:
Each panel supports SA Water’s goal of aligning engineering capability and capacity with project complexity, as it embarks on its extensive capital program with a strong focus on environmental leadership and sustainable performance.
"We are excited to continue working with SA Water through the Engineering Panels to deliver safely, sustainably, and efficiently for our communities."
Anthony Johnston, Land and Water Leader, SA & VIC, Aurecon

Aurecon is committed to aligning with SA Water’s values and strategy to embed these principles into every stage of project delivery, from feasibility and design through to construction and commissioning support.
In addition to direct engineering services, Aurecon’s team will provide indirect design support to SA Water’s construction contractors, including major framework and pipeline delivery partners. Aurecon’s technical expertise will also be available through secondments and as Owner’s Engineer as required, ensuring flexible and responsive support when and where it’s needed most.
