RMIT Deputy Vice-Chancellor College of Business and Law Professor Colin Picker said RMIT was proud to recognise Adams’ achievements with this honour.

“It is especially meaningful to celebrate someone like Louise Adams whose life’s work naturally aligns with RMIT’s commitment to social impact and innovation. Adams has delivered this throughout her long-standing championing of equality in STEM that saw her become a global advocate for women in leadership long before she became Aurecon’s first female Chief Executive Officer,” Professor Picker said.

“Adams has also significantly contributed to strengthening the Australia-Vietnam relationship and advancing sustainable development across Australia and Southeast Asia through her voluntary national role as Australia’s Southeast Asia Business Champion to Vietnam, something that is aligned with RMITs mission in the region. We are immensely proud to have Louise Adams as part of our community.”

"The world faces complex challenges and it is only by working together across industries, sectors and communities with an optimistic mindset that we will find the solutions that matter most."

Ms Adams said she was deeply honoured to receive this recognition.

“It’s particularly significant to receive this from an institution like RMIT that is renowned for championing imagination, entrepreneurship, and social contribution,” she said.

“The world faces complex challenges and it is only by working together across industries, sectors and communities with an optimistic mindset that we will find the solutions that matter most. Much of my work as a Business Champion and in STEM leadership has been about building and strengthening connections and fostering partnerships that drive real change.

“I share this honour with all those who have supported and challenged me along the way and hope it encourages others to use their skills to make a positive difference in the world."
