The awards celebrate the achievements of Australia’s most sought-after graduate employers based on the number of university students that apply for advertised positions with an employer on GradConnection, Australia’s largest graduate employment and information website.
Aurecon Chief People Officer Liam Hayes said the accolades represented significant interest from students to work for Aurecon in the more than ever competitive graduate recruitment market.
“At Aurecon people are at the heart of everything we do, and the range of different opinions contribute to our innovative culture. We believe that graduates, interns, and cadetships are critical to driving innovation given the different perspectives young talent bring compared to other generations,” Mr Hayes said.
"Graduates and interns continue to be a vital cohorts for Aurecon and the future of our business."
“We are really proud of our sustained growth as a business and as an employer of choice. Graduates and interns continue to be a vital cohort for Aurecon and the future of our business. Our intake of graduates and interns in 2023 across Australia and New Zealand is the largest ever given we’ll be hiring a total of 445 graduates and interns and are targeting a 51 per cent female intake. This is a 33 per cent increase in the number of grad and intern hires compared to 2022.”
“Over the last few years, the percentage of our international hires in the early careers space has also increased from 16 per cent in 2020 to 33 per cent in 2022.”
In 2023 Aurecon will hire graduates across degrees from the mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, chemical/process, environmental and geotechnical engineering streams, as well as project management, surveying, and planning degrees.
In addition, Aurecon is recruiting across disciplines that support management consulting such as business, communications, and stakeholder engagement, commerce, finance, law, and technology, reflecting the demand for rapidly growing advisory business.
To help boost Indigenous students’ presence in STEM, Aurecon is also hiring 10 cadetships in Australia for people with Indigenous backgrounds. Aurecon will support these students to finish secondary education and create career pathways for them to work at Aurecon in roles ranging from drafters, modellers to project managers.
“As we continue to grow as a business, we remain committed to developing students, interns, and graduates. We have also further expanded our learning and development resources to help our early career talent develop skills and transit from campus to the corporate world,” said Mr Hayes.
Aurecon’s 2023 graduate program will open to applications from 22 February 2023. We invite interested candidates to find out more and express interest HERE.
