Graduate and internship programmes to co-create a better future

We’re living in a time of unprecedented change – much more than we’ve ever seen and anticipated before. Climate change, COVID-19, economic, social, technological changes, to name a few. To face these, we’re looking for unconventional thinkers and dedicated doers who feel deeply passionate about co-creating solutions for a sustainable, liveable future.

Like the Woodside Building for Technology & Design, made using world-leading energy efficient building design to become the largest educational building in the world to achieve Passive House certification, and featured at the COP26 UN Climate Conference in 2021.

Or the award-winning Project Gilghi – a portable, solar-powered water treatment system housed in a shipping container – that can filter 250 kilolitres of potable water per day for rural or isolated indigenous communities.

Aurecon is the only Australian company on the Fortune 2021 Change the World List and the only engineering firm in the Top 10 Best Places to Work 2021. And in 2020, we were named Australasia’s Most Innovative Company by the Australian Financial Review (AFR).

We recently won the Engineers Australia Most Popular Engineering and Resources Employer award at the GradConnection Top 100 awards in 2022.

Join us to co-create a better future, in which people and the planet can flourish. Start your career journey with us! Together, we’ll be unstoppable. Apply today.

The people who design a better future for humanity are the brave new thinkers like you.

If you recognise at least one of our Aurecon Attributes in yourself, here’s how to apply:

The work may be challenging, but the recruitment process isn’t.

  • 1

Send in your resume, cover letter and academic transcript

Make sure you include details about:

    • Work experience
    • Education
    • Extracurricular activities (do you have a side-hustle that’s changing the world?)
  • 2

    Online assessment and video

You will be invited to undertake an online assessment that includes questions about you, written answers to several brief practical problems, and you will get to film a short video a sharing a bit about you and what excites you about joining Aurecon.

  • 3

    Screening process

Our team of recruiters review each application form, cover letter, and resume thoroughly. They consider a variety of aspects such as academic achievements, relevant work experience, extracurricular activities or volunteer work as well as evidence of the Aurecon Attributes.

Recruiters narrow down the selection of applicants and provide a shortlist of resumes to hiring managers for review.

  • 4

    Interview and/or assessment centres

If you are successfully shortlisted, you will be invited for an interview and/or an assessment centre, depending on your location.

At this point, it’s a good idea to start thinking about:

    • Why you want to join Aurecon
    • Which sector or business unit you’re most interested in and think you’re most suited for
    • Any work experience or previous study you’ve done relevant to that sector
    • How you are an unconventional thinker who wants to co-create a better future
  • 5

    Offer of employment

If you are successful – congratulations!

You will receive a phone call from our recruiters to talk you through everything you need to know about joining Aurecon. You will then receive all relevant documentation, including a visual contract, via email.

We keep in touch with all our applicants throughout the process, so you’re up to date on your application’s progress.

If you have any queries, send us a direct message via our Facebook page and one of our recruitment team will get back to you.
