Liam Hayes is Aurecon’s Chief People Officer.
As part of Aurecon’s Group Executive Leadership Team, Liam leads our People team which focuses on providing solutions that enable Aurecon to attract the best talent and develop our people to meet our client’s current and future challenges. Having the right people and creating the right environment allows our people to succeed and realise their dreams.
Liam and the People team partner with Aurecon’s Group and Region Executive Leadership teams to execute culture change, organisational and leadership development strategies, and programmes such as the award-winning Mind Matters programme, which won the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) Award for Mental Health in the Workplace and the Māori cadet programme, which won the Māori and Pacifica Diversity award at the ‘Young at Heart’ Youth Employer Pledge Awards.
Liam believes the innovation and creativity we bring to our clients is only possible because of the talented and diverse people that work for us. Our people are inquisitive, engaging, co-creative, fearless, resourceful, commercial, sense makers and unconventional thinkers.
In 2017, Liam was a recipient of the Australian Financial Review BOSS magazine's ‘Young Executives of the Year’ Award, and received the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) Dave Ulrich HR Leader Award in 2018.
Liam lives by the motto that you never stop developing, and when opportunities present themselves, you shouldn’t be afraid to take them on – particularly those that will stretch you and take you out of your comfort zone.
Liam has been with Aurecon and its predecessor companies for over 15 years. He was appointed Chief People Officer in February 2015 and is part of Aurecon's Future Ready team. He is also a board member for Wear for Success.
