24 June 2021 – International engineering, design and advisory company Aurecon continues its partnership with the Good Design Awards by renewing its sponsorship of the Engineering Design category for a further three years.

Recognised by the World Design Organization (WDO) as Australia’s peak design endorsement programme, Australia’s Good Design Awards is one of the oldest and most prestigious international design awards in the world, and Aurecon founded the Engineering Design category award with the Good Design Australia back in 2018.

Support for the Good Design Awards and sponsorship of the engineering award aligns with Aurecon’s belief that engineers have a pivotal role to play in designing and delivering places and infrastructure for future generations.

William Cox, Chief Executive Officer of Aurecon, expressed excitement for the company’s continued support of the Good Design Awards in recognising exemplar designs in Australia. “Winning a Good Design Award is an incredible achievement for designers and innovators at any stage in their career. It recognises the excellence of their work and the value of their ideas to the Australian and international design community. We are proud to be part of their journey,” said Cox.

Moreover, Cox will chair the jury panel that will assess entries for the Engineering Design category this year. He will be joined by respected engineers and industry leaders Dr Bronwyn Evans, CEO of Engineers Australia; Jane MacMaster, Chief Engineer at Engineers Australia; and Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla, Director, Centre for Sustainable Materials Research & Technology, University of New South Wales in selecting the best engineering designs for 2021.

“I am humbled to have such accomplished individuals and engineering minds help me judge this year’s engineering entries in the Good Design Awards. I look forward to reviewing the designs over the next couple of weeks,” said Cox.

Good Design Award winners will be announced at a ceremony in Sydney on 17 September 2021.
