21 January 2019 – Aurecon continues to strengthen its Urban Mobility and Integrated Transport team with the appointment of five senior specialists across the company’s Transport Planning arm.

Based in locations throughout Australia and New Zealand, the new leaders will work closely together to spearhead the company’s growth plans for its Urban Mobility and Integrated Transport service offering.

Mieszko Iwaskow, Aurecon’s Global Service Leader Transport Planning said the appointments come at an opportune time as Aurecon takes its multidisciplinary offering to clients to help them integrate transport and social infrastructure.

"Our global population continues to grow and the transport networks in cities are under increasing pressure to handle the movement of passengers and goods. At the same time, people’s expectations around choice and convenience are increasing when it comes to commuting and the delivery of goods," Mr Iwaskow said.

"Being able to solve these problems with connected systems will improve transport solutions through better coordination, more choice, improved safety and increased efficiency, allowing people and freight to move more freely across our global networks."

Aurecon’s new appointments include:

  • Jonathan Dare-Williams, Integrated Transport Leader, Brisbane
Jon is bringing Aurecon’s integrated transport service offering to clients in Queensland with a focus on delivering design-led outcomes. Jon has experience across the infrastructure sector in Australia, the Middle East and the UK with both public and private organisations.
  • Doris Stroh, Technical Director Integrated Transport, Auckland
Doris has held key leadership and people focused roles across New Zealand, including as the current ACENZ Transportation Chair. She will bring leadership expertise to her transport team leader position at Aurecon.
  • Russ Yell, Global Smart Mobility Leader, Auckland
Russ has 16 years of experience in transport, with the last seven focused on delivering strategic technology services and solutions to clients. This experience gives him the skills to help clients shape, define and implement their transformation in urban mobility through digital disruption, technological advancements and new mobility solutions.
  • Hannah Trevett, Associate Human Factors Consultant, Auckland
Hannah joins Aurecon with international experience integrating human factors in large engineering projects. This includes designing work environments, control systems, task aids, staffing structures and control centres to improve safety, operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Tim Booth, Associate Transport Planner, Auckland
Tim is a project manager, transport planner and traffic engineer with 25 years of experience on large transport projects. Having worked around the world, Tim is now involved in leading transport, ITS and aviation projects across the Asia-Pacific region.

Welcoming the new appointments, Mr Iwaskow said it broadens Aurecon’s skill set in urban mobility and integrated transport, to help clients innovate through design.

"Clients are seeing the disruption of traditional transport networks with emerging technologies, urban growth and changes in user expectations, but are still cautious about which transport mode changes are right for their businesses," Mr Iwaskow said.

Aurecon can work with clients to merge new technology and people-focused design for the unprecedented opportunity to manage and improve urban mobility.

"With the appointment of five new senior specialists, Aurecon is expanding its focus on designing for the movement of people, not merely trucks, trains or vehicles. It all comes back to people and creating transport networks that improve their quality of life, and that’s where the strength of our Aurecon team is," Mr Iwaskow said.
