Aurecon to contribute to leading AFR national infrastructure summit

Two Aurecon leaders are set to debate how Australia will deliver unprecendented levels of infrastructure projects at the AFR National Infrastructure Summit this June.

Aurecon’s William Cox and Aneetha de Silva will share their insights on how to deliver unprecedented levels of infrastructure projects to address surging population growth.

01 June 2018 – Two Aurecon leaders will debate how Australia will deliver unprecedented levels of infrastructure projects to address surging population growth at the AFR National Infrastructure Summit on 4-5 June.

William Cox, Managing Director – Australia and New Zealand and Aneetha de Silva, Managing Director – Government are panellists at the nation’s premier infrastructure forum set to attract 300 of Australia’s top investors, planners, contractors, advisers and policy-makers.

Interest in this year’s event is expected to rise given the Federal Government’s AUD75 billion dollar infrastructure investment over the next decade, with the topic of how projects can be efficiently and expertly delivered critical for a number of stakeholders.

William Cox, Managing Director – Australia and New Zealand will discuss emerging workforce capabilities required to deliver world-class infrastructure projects.

Engineers will require different skill sets with the need for digital capabilities continuing to skyrocket as the fundamental way we design and deliver projects evolves. It’s a hugely exciting time to be involved in these important conversations that will pave the way for our future,” Mr Cox said.

Aneetha de Silva will be discussing the challenges of market-led proposals in Australia, including recommendations to support unsolicited bids in helping alleviate existing infrastructure and service gaps.

“The private sector can offer a great deal of value and innovation to the infrastructure space and governments have a strong incentive to seek access to those innovative solutions as they have the potential to solve current needs of the community,” Ms de Silva said. “The challenge is bringing both parties together in an effective way."
