12 May 2016 - Engineering and consulting firm Aurecon has announced the appointment of Serena Yap as its Technical Director for Buildings Structures in Singapore, as of 3 May 2016.

Says Steve Liew, Country Manager for Aurecon, Singapore, “We are very pleased to welcome Serena to our Buildings Structures team. Her forte in managing a variety of educational, residential, infrastructure, commercial and mixed development projects to achieve outcomes that make them lasting assets will certainly add value to Aurecon’s clients.”

This appointment aligns with the city’s Building and Construction Authority’s (BCA) vision to create a future-ready built environment for Singapore – one that is “safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built.” The BCA projects that the value of construction contracts to be awarded this year will amount to between $27 billion and $34 billion, with roughly 65% driven by public sector demand. If these forecasted estimates are met, this will be the highest proportion of construction demand from the public sector since 2002.

Given BCA’s vision to develop a skills-based, future-ready environment for the city of Singapore, Serena will prove a vital contributor to this vision. She will be responsible for providing technical expertise to clients and developing, as well as managing, projects. She will also be accountable for all financial, technical, client relationship, contractual, risk, and staffing aspects related to projects.
