Daniel Bree, Aurecon’s Managing Director for Western Australia & Northern Territory said, “We are thrilled to celebrate this great milestone in our Territorian journey. In the last 50 years, we have had the privilege to work with our clients on transformative projects, creating a vibrant, sustainable cityscape for the local community.

“Aurecon’s presence in Darwin itself is hard to miss. It’s nearly impossible to drive for more than five minutes without seeing an Aurecon-engineered building or infrastructure construction project.”

Boasting a diverse portfolio in the Northern Territory, Aurecon has played a key role in transforming the Darwin City Waterfront, designing the Darwin Convention Centre and delivering Robertson Barracks Defence Base, to name a few.

In recent years, Aurecon has been providing a comprehensive range of engineering services to the multi-million Charles Darwin University Education and Community Precinct in the Darwin CBD. The state-of-the-art precinct forms the centrepiece of the Darwin City Deal and will host teaching and research facilities, an art gallery and two new libraries as part of the plan to revitalise the Darwin CBD.

“With a footprint across the country, we pride ourselves on serving communities across metropolitan and regional areas,” added Daniel.

To improve the life quality of Territorians living in regional areas, Aurecon in collaboration with its partners delivered Project Gilghi in recent years near Alice Springs, a multi-award-winning project for water treatment. As a result, the people of Gillen Bore can turn on the tap today and know that safe, clean drinking water will run straight into their glasses.

“Driven by a strong sense of giving back to the community, we also focus on fostering the local talent, inspiring the next generation of engineers, designers and advisors.”

Shannon Kieran, who joined Aurecon’s Darwin office as a graduate engineer three years ago, is among the emerging professionals that are thriving at Aurecon. Having honed her design skills over a number of projects, Shannon was awarded 2022 Young Designer of the Year by the Australian Steel Institute.

“With such a robust talent pipeline, we are more confident than ever in our future in the Northern Territory, and we’re looking forward to what the next 50 years will bring,” added Daniel.

As part of Aurecon’s celebrations for the anniversary, Aurecon Darwin office held an event attended by Aurecon employees and leaders, major clients and partners, and guests from local communities.
