The Research Agenda will connect Aurecon’s applied research to real-world solutions, fostering critical partnerships with leading universities and organisations.

14 June 2022 – International design, engineering and advisory company Aurecon has launched an Applied Research Agenda to create opportunities for key researchers and architecture, engineering, and construction industry partners to solve significant industry challenges through collaboration and innovation.

The Research Agenda will connect Aurecon’s applied research to real-world solutions, fostering critical partnerships with leading universities and organisations that seek to explore, develop and adopt emerging solutions, to create a better future for people and our planet.

The agenda outlines three key areas in which Aurecon seeks to explore and innovate, they are:

  • Materials, Methods, and Manufacturing
  • Resilience, Net Impact, & Renewal

Applied Research Leader at Aurecon, Dr Aaron Belbasis, says “our goal is to experiment, explore, and accelerate new industry solutions, in order to address global challenges and opportunities which Aurecon and our partners face.”

Dr Belbasis says the Agenda is a guide for collaboration across various industries and markets, to work towards outcomes that benefit industries as a whole.

“Aurecon works across the whole spectrum of innovation to ensure new solutions are identified and fostered for all stakeholders within the industries we support. Facilitating connections and activity between research and industry is how we make this happen.”

Applied Research, as a discipline, anticipates and develops practical solutions to industry challenges. Aurecon is currently working on innovations to address a range of these challenges – from construction robots that never sleep, AI-powered optimisation operating in wastewater networks, through to custom bridges that are 3D printed on site.

“Whether you’re a research team exploring a novel solution, a company in search of scaling a solution or an organisation actively bridging this gap, we want to hear from you. If it aligns with our Research Agenda we are interested!

We invite you to review the Aurecon Research Agenda and please contact Dr Aaron Belbasis either via LinkedIn, email, or phone +61 3 9975 3158 to discuss the opportunities.
