Held at the RACV Club, Melbourne, Aurecon was joined by project partners Lend Lease (formerly Baulderstone), ARM Architecture, The Arts Centre and Major Projects Victoria at the awards ceremony that recognised engineering excellence in a variety of categories.
Joining Hamer Hall’s nomination for an Award of Excellence was the Peninsula Link Bridge over Eastlink project, a part of Aurecon’s joint venture with Sinclair Knight Merz.
Last week’s CIA award is the latest in a series of coveted awards the project has received in Australia.
Earlier in September, the project won top honours in the Walls category at Cement Concrete & Aggregate Australia’s national Public Domain Awards.
In June, the project performed strongly at the Victorian Architectural Awards winning in the Public Architecture Award for Alterations & Additions, the Marion Mahony Award for Interior Architecture, and the John George Knight Award for Heritage out of a field of 240 projects.
Peter Murenu, Technical Director, Buildings said: “Hamer Hall and The Arts Centre are iconic Melbourne buildings and delivering excellence on this project was very important to us and all our project partners. The broad industry recognition the project has received throughout the year is a testament to the success of a particularly collaborative and cooperative project environment.
Working with our project partners Lend Lease, ARM Architecture, The Arts Centre and Major Projects Victoria, we have delivered a project that will provide significant cultural and economic benefits for many years to come.”
