25 February 2013 - In a continued drive to align Aurecon’s Transport offering to clients’ needs, the business has made two senior appointments in Rail. Anthony Oyo has been appointed Technical Director, Transport Services (Rolling Stock), while Walter Rushbrook, has been appointed Technical Director & Rail Delivery Leader, New Zealand.
Anthony Oyo’s focus will be to enhance the value Aurecon provides to existing and new clients by developing and implementing transport solutions, in New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Asia.
Anthony has successfully led multidisciplinary teams that have delivered rolling stock procurement, whole of life asset management strategies, and strategic maintenance reviews for rolling stock owners, operators and franchise bidders. He has worked to create mechanisms to develop sustainable supply chains for water and sanitation infrastructure for NGOs such as the World Bank, Department for International Development (DFID), United Kingdom and recipient governments.
In New Zealand, as project director, Anthony recently led the design, build, and introduction to service of the new Matangi electric multiple unit rolling stock fleet for the director for Greater Wellington Regional Council. He has also provided technical support to Auckland’s City Rail Link as part of Aurecon’s role as technical adviser to Auckland Transport.
Anthony comes to Aurecon as a chartered professional engineer with over 20 years’ experience in infrastructure procurement, maintenance, leasing and project management in the rail industry in New Zealand and Europe and water, sanitation and energy in Asia and Africa.

I look forward to growing our rolling stock portfolio through our existing infrastructure teams and clients, as well as exploring new markets where we can add value,” says Anthony.
Walter Rushbrook has been appointed Aurecon Technical Director & Rail Delivery Leader, New Zealand.
With over 15 years of experience in the engineering and railway industries he has a diverse and proven track record in a range of areas including: leading engineering teams; successfully delivering large and complex infrastructure projects; railways operations; asset management; and, project management/governance of projects and large programmes of work.
Walter is highly experienced working across railway infrastructure and operations management. He has developed and reviewed asset management plans and systems, and has a deep knowledge of freight and passenger operations and their interfaces with the infrastructure needed to support their successful operations. He has worked on the design and management of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, from feasibility through to construction, particularly with a focus on to optimising engineering design and construction methodologies.
