Situated approximately 40 kilometres from Ho Chi Minh City, the construction of Long Thanh International Airport in Vietnam is underway. This major infrastructure project will serve as a significant aviation hub in Asia.

Aurecon, in a design consortium, has been awarded the consultancy contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering design services for the detailed design and construction stages of the airport's first development phase (2021-2026).

The terminal design includes a lotus flower-shaped building, reflecting local cultural elements in its architecture. This new airport represents a significant step in Vietnam's aviation infrastructure development.

Upon completion, Long Thanh International Airport will feature four runways and passenger terminals and is designed to handle up to 100 million passengers, and 5 million tonnes of cargo annually.

Aurecon’s involvement in the project is a demonstration of our established presence in Vietnam and the aviation sector. We look forward to working with the Airports Corporation of Vietnam to bring this resilient airport infrastructure to life.
