Client: Gulf MP Company Limited
Gulf MP Company Limited, a private power producer, was granted a license for 12 combined cycle natural gas power plants under the 2010 Small Power Producer (SPP) Programme, established by the Thai government to accelerate the economic and social development of the provinces. Each SPP will supply 90 MW of electricity to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand under a PPA contract and additional electricity and steam to industrial customers in the area.
Aurecon was appointed as the owner’s engineer for the off-site facilities working the EPC contractor, Sino-Thai Engineering & Construction, to ensure the smooth and timely delivery of all 12 power plants that were developed across seven industrial estates in Thailand. Upon completion, the total combined installed power generation capacity is 1,563.4 megawatts, with a combined installed steam generation capacity of 225.0 tons per hour.
Aurecon brought our technical expertise, multi-disciplinary capabilities and extensive knowledge of project development from working with various international developers to help Gulf successfully roll out 12 power plants within 4 years. The last power plant, located in the Suranari Industrial Estate, Nakorn Ratchasima province, started commercial operations on 1 July 2019.
Aurecon is proud to collaborate with Gulf MP on this project to bring power, economic and social development to five provinces across Thailand.
