Asia Pacific design, engineering and advisory company, Aurecon has won the 2024 Australia Association of Graduate Employer’s (AAGE) Outstanding Integrated Marketing Campaign award for graduate intake over 50 at the AAGE Australia Graduate Recruitment Industry Awards (AGRIAs).
Key to the campaign's success was the involvement of Aurecon’s early career professionals across offices and specialisations throughout the creative process. Their insights ensured the campaign reflected genuine graduate experiences.

Based on an internal survey, Aurecon uncovered values that mattered most to early career professionals – purpose-driven initiatives, individuality, authenticity, and a passion for sustainability. This feedback informed brainstorming sessions that led to a gamification theme, emphasising that a career at Aurecon allows for a 'choose your own adventure' experience – one that is exciting, meaningful, and self-directed.
"With the rise of Gen Z in the workforce, we focused on connecting through authentic stories that resonate with their values."

The campaign features a range of content and collateral that showcase real-life stories and experiences from early career professionals. As a result, Aurecon received over 11,000 applications – a 35 per cent increase from 2023, and successfully filled all 280 graduate roles across Australia and New Zealand, marking a significant milestone for the company.
Liam Hayes, Aurecon Chief People Officer said, “We are proud to be recognised for our innovative approach to graduate recruitment and look forward to continuing to inspire and empower future generations of professionals.”
“At Aurecon, we believe that every career journey should be a rewarding adventure. Understanding that today’s graduates want to take charge of their own paths, our campaign aimed to empower them to drive their careers forward. With the rise of Gen Z in the workforce, we focused on connecting through authentic stories that resonate with their values.
“This award highlights the power of integrated marketing campaigns in connecting with today's early career talent. By involving our early career professionals, we were able to authentically engage students seeking design, engineering and advisory career opportunities.”
The awards gala dinner took place in Melbourne on 31 October 2024, where over 600 industry leaders gathered to celebrate excellence in graduate recruitment. For more information about Aurecon and our early careers programs, click here.
