Simon Mezger to lead Aurecon’s ANZ Infrastructure Advisory business
Simon Mezger has 25 years of management consulting and infrastructure advisory experience helping organisations manage a wide range of projects.
19 July 2022 – International design, engineering and advisory company Aurecon has appointed Simon Mezger as Infrastructure Advisory Managing Principal to lead its infrastructure advisory business across Australia and New Zealand.
Simon will head a team of 130 professionals whose expertise spans strategy, risk, procurement, economics, analytics, finance and project management.
Aurecon’s infrastructure advisory team supports government and private sector organisations in the prioritisation, funding and delivery of infrastructure projects that improve productivity and quality of life.
Aurecon Group Managing Principal – Advisory, Julian Dolby described Simon as a highly respected, collaborative and generous leader.

In recent times, Aurecon’s Infrastructure Advisory team has supported some of the most important projects in Australia and New Zealand, including guiding sustainable tourism in collaboration with Traditional Owners in the Northern Territory and minimising environmental impacts of Brisbane’s multimode transport hub.

Simon Mezger has 25 years of management consulting and infrastructure advisory experience helping organisations manage a wide range of projects. Prior to joining Aurecon in April 2021, Simon was a Partner with multiple global consulting giants, including Kearney, PwC and Accenture.
With a sectoral focus on energy, Simon possesses extensive experience across the entire energy value chain, having worked with major electricity and gas players in generation, transmission, distribution and retail in Australia and New Zealand as they manage their energy transition.
Simon’s technical expertise covers asset transition, growth strategies, operating models, mergers and acquisitions and organisational reform.
Simon was previously responsible for Aurecon’s Infrastructure Advisory business in Victoria and South Australia.
Simon earned a Master of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
