Renewable delivery modelsWhy long-term partnerships matter

Video transcript

Troy: We're seeing more the developer-owner-operator model as opposed from the developer and flip the asset. And I think that's a far more sustainable approach. And I think that gives greater certainty to the success of a project that the developer-owner is going to be an operator or neighbour for many years, not just come in and develop and sell the asset on.

Typically, these projects are in environmentally sensitive areas. There's indigenous landowners, there's stakeholders, there's community, there's business groups, local workforce. It's really important taking in that long-term, enduring relationship mindset does inform decisions as it should because that'll get a greater outcome for the developer, for the local community, for the receiver of the energy.

It's the maturity of the client and that delivery partner to really collaborate for the benefit of the project. It's an integrated team that can best manage the project challenges, best manage the risk, have the greatest chance of delivering on time, on budget.

I think that understanding of what's in the market and how will that best respond to your project needs is really important. And there's often understanding that you'll get a better blend of a response from the market.

The most exciting thing is that we're starting to see more approvals, more projects being, you know, starting on site, you know, getting through all the approval gates and seeing projects shovel ready, you know, workforce is being mobilised, contracts being let. We are starting to see a little bit more momentum in that area. We'd love it to go faster, but we're definitely seeing momentum which is really exciting.
