Aurecon awarded for employee engagement at the Philippine Quill Awards

Limelight Manila receives recognition for employee engagement in the 18th Philippine Quill Awards 2021.

The first Limelight Manila chairs led the launch of Aurecon's emerging professionals network to provide a safe and fun space for employees' personal and professional development.

06 April 2021 – International engineering, design and advisory company, Aurecon, has received an Award of Excellence from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines for the launch of its emerging professionals network Limelight in its Manila office.

With the theme ‘ARISE: Communications that uplift,’ the awards programme commended Aurecon under the Communications Management Division: Employee Engagement category during the 18th Philippine Quill Awards for the Limelight Manila launch campaign.

Limelight was introduced in Aurecon’s offices in Australia and New Zealand in 2012 to give our emerging professionals a voice and an opportunity to develop initiatives that will help them gain career direction in the company. This propelled other offices in Asia to launch their own Limelight chapters, including in Singapore, Hong Kong, and most recently in Manila, where it was launched in 2019.

“We are thrilled with this recognition from IABC. This award is a testament to the success of introducing our Limelight chapter to be a platform where our emerging professionals can engage with each other through their shared need for professional development,” said Sonny Bartido, Global Shared Services Manager and Manila Office Manager.

Former Limelight Manila Chair and Marketing and Communications Advisor, Joyce Hipolito, shared that while employees have always been interested in activities that contribute to their growth and development, Limelight enables them to actively engage and participate in the organisation’s initiatives.

“Limelight became a safe space for young professionals like us to explore different opportunities for learning, and exchange ideas with our peers. It provides a platform where programs that allowed us to share our talents and skills are introduced. It also enables young professionals in the organisation to have meaningful conversations with Aurecon’s executives, leaders and colleagues about career decisions and leadership,” she said.

Bartido added that establishing the network in the Manila office is a part of the organisation’s goal and strategy to enhance the employee experience, like the rollout of the visual employment contracts for new hires in the Philippines last year.

“Employee experience is an important part of Aurecon’s strategy because our people are at the heart of everything we do. By cultivating a positive experience, our employees are able to excel in their roles and help achieve exemplar business results. Our leaders acknowledge that everyone has a part to play fostering this culture, and Limelight provides our young professionals a platform to contribute to this goal,” said Bartido.
