Aurecon digital tool optimises community feedback

swipEngage 2.0 enables communities to provide feedback from a safe social distance and leverages data analytics

03 August 2020 – International engineering, design and advisory company Aurecon has launched a new and improved version of an innovative digital research tool to better capture stakeholder and community feedback in the face of physical limitations imposed by COVID-19.

Effective communication and engagement are crucial in the successful design, development and delivery of infrastructure. swipEngage 2.0 enables communities to provide feedback from a safe social distance and leverages data analytics to share valuable updates and insights with clients in real-time.

Since launching in 2018, the bespoke tool has been used across the transport, education, water and energy sectors and across projects of varying size and scale.

Kylie Cochrane, Managing Principal, Communication & Stakeholder Engagement said the tool’s popularity drove demand to further enhance its performance to meet the needs of clients now and into the future.

“The demand for our Digital Engagement expertise is growing. People are looking for immersive experiences, such as the ‘Challenge the Channel’ interactive game created by our 3D visualisation and creative technology team, Unsigned Studio,” Kylie said.

“Clients are also looking for intuitive, informative tools that deliver real insights. Given the social distancing constraints we are now facing with certain infrastructure projects, the enhanced swipEngage tool enables us to still gain valuable community input with the new level of access enhancing clients’ data analysis and accurately measuring changes in sentiment and responses,” Kylie said.

swipEngage 2.0 features a dashboard that improves navigation, is responsive to different devices and allows actions to be assigned to users. The dashboard also provides a ‘visual snapshot’ of a survey and the key insights identified. Filters can be applied to provide snapshots of a project as a whole or for specific periods of time.

The visualisation of data has been overhauled to present insights in a more visually engaging way. A suite of graphs and graphics have been developed to effectively demonstrate all types of data, adding value and improving analysis.
