Global engineering and infrastructure advisory company Aurecon signed the Employers’ Pledge of Fair Employment Practices in Singapore, affirming its longstanding global commitment to fair and responsible employment practices and maintaining a culture based on respect, trust and inclusiveness.
The Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) consists of the Ministry of Manpower, the National Trades Union Congress and the Singapore National Employers Federation. The pledge that TAFEP encourages all employers to take is centred around selecting, developing, and rewarding employees based on their ability, contribution, and performance, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, marital status and family responsibilities, or disability.

"Aurecon has long stood for equality and fair employment practices, even before signing the TAFEP pledge in Singapore,” says Paul Lombard, Managing Director, Middle East and Asia. “As a company helmed by inclusive leadership, we are committed to becoming more innovative in order to provide unconventional solutions to our clients’ challenges. But this can only be achieved in a work environment where everyone feels respected, has a sense of value, and is willing to contribute; this produces a more engaged workforce, and is also sound business sense.”
Just like Singapore, meritocracy, diversity, and inclusion are the cornerstones of Aurecon’s business practices. For instance, women currently make up 34 per cent of the Singapore office, and Aurecon is now focused on achieving 40 per cent female representation.
Aurecon’s ethnically diverse teams are drawn from a wide range of backgrounds and can work easily across borders and time zones – a testament to the success of its open and welcoming culture.
