– Winner: Most Promising Professional of the Year
Shauna McAuley attracted the judges' praise for her outstanding contributions on a range of complex investigation and remedial projects. This included groundwater investigations at Wellington Airport and of which the client noted her ability to understand the wider project implications and associated challenges of airport environment, which was critical to its success.
Shauna is a Master of Geoenvironmental Engineering with a background in contaminated land investigation, environmental protection and environmental health. She has worked in industrial and research positions, bringing varied environmental monitoring experience to her role and is involved in various projects throughout New Zealand, such as removal of asbestos from residential community sites, and landfill gas risk assessments.
In 2019, Shauna was invited to attend the 2019 EcoForum Conference in Auckland as a subject matter expert.
