Aurecon is committed to creating a workplace environment where everyone feels valued and has a sense of belonging.  The aim is to enable LGBTI+ and non-LGBTI people to interact comfortably and authentically, while developing to their full professional potential.  

In 2019, Aurecon became the first engineering consultancy in New Zealand to become Rainbow Tick certified, only eight months after its embarking on its accreditation journey. The Aurecon PRIDE NZ network was established enabling staff to present personal stories on LGBTI+ inclusion to the NZ Leadership Team, at which time they gave their full support to all LGBTI+ initiatives.

Aurecon also achieved Bronze status in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) – the definitive Australian benchmark on LGBTI+ workplace inclusion and was once again recognised by The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) with an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation in 2019.
