There was no rule book, no defined scope of services and no hesitation to go that extra mile for this not-for-profit organisation to provide accommodation for families with seriously ill children.
Being an unconventional thinker encourages me to adopt my client’s problems and challenges as my own. I provide leadership through complexity and challenge barriers to achieve the best possible result for my client.
The idea of Ronald McDonald House (RMH) undertaking a major capital project is unconventional – as the daily activities of the RMH staff involve caring for families and keeping the charity operational. My scope of services was undefined, which presented an opportunity to prepare, integrate and define my role in the organisation with consideration to the unique elements of RMH.
This award showcases the highlight of my project management career to date. Every time I visit or drive past the building at Southbank I feel so proud of what I achieved with the project team. To have my work recognised on the state, national and international stage was incredible and a moment I’ll never forget.
