Consult Australia Awards for Excellence
– Winner: Large Firm of the Year
– Gold: Corporate Social Responsibility – Aurecon Bridge Building Competition
Aurecon claimed the title of Large Firm of the Year at the Consult Australia Awards for Excellence 2017.
In addition to taking out the Large Firm of the Year title, the firm also received recognition for its contribution to the industry and community, winning three Gold Awards and three Highly Commended Awards in six categories.
The Gold Award of Merit for Corporate Social Responsibility, went to the Aurecon Bridge Building Competition (BBC).
The Aurecon BBC helps Year 8 and 9 students across Australia and New Zealand develop their understanding of STEM subjects by building bridges using icy pole sticks, string, glue and cardboard. Aurecon believes by enabling students to learn the basic principles of engineering, it’s helping develop Australia’s next generation of engineers.
The other two Gold Awards of Merit received were for External Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability in Design; on the Wynyard Station Upgrade and Sunshine Coast University Hospital projects respectively.
