Inspiring Afrika through collaboration

Inspiring Afrika through collaboration

Aurecon’s involvement with The World Design Organization (WDO) as well as our participation in pivotal events is premised on a simple but powerful idea; to foster broader collaboration and initiate design case studies that approach the complex problems in Africa through an Afrikan lens.

The WDO is an international non-governmental organisation with UN Special Consultative Status. The organisation advocates industrial design driven innovation that creates a better world.

The alignment of Aurecon’s vision with that of the WDO is about creating solutions based on the real needs and aspirations of Afrikans. Our intention is to help tackle development agendas such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals in a way that delivers meaningful value for our clients and end users. We do this by combining design thinking and hard technical skills to find a sweet spot where innovation can flourish.

Aurecon is a proud member of the WDO, which includes 140 member organisations from 40 nations.

To find out more, please contact Aurecon’s Director for Innovation and Transformation, Africa, Abbas Jamie, who is the WDO community liaison for Africa.
