This project was undertaken to provide all-weather access for the communities living north of the Senqu River in the Qacha's Nek district in Lesotho.
The Mohlapiso Bridge is a 215 m long, double lane high-level bridge, comprising four spans and reinforced earth approach fills.
Its construction included pile foundations, round piers of 15 m maximum height, post-tensioned concrete beams pre-cast on-site and a cast in-situ concrete deck. The bridge is on a vertical curve and the approach roads are 5 km long and bitumen surfaced.
