The Ore Line Expansion Project FEL-2, South Africa
The Ore Line Expansion Project is being undertaken to determine viable strategies to expand the throughput capacity of the ore line, spanning almost 900 kilometres from the Port of Saldanha to Sishen, from 60 Mtpa to over 100 Mtpa.
The study involved detailed analysis of multiple aspects of the supply chain including assessment of the existing asset, capital and operation costs to achieve the nominated operational targets, the determination of rail and port operating practices, bulk materials handling procedures and complex rail yard operations.
