The Naypyitaw Mixed Development Project is Aurecon’s first Property project in Myanmar - a residential, retail and commercial complex in Myanmar’s new capital city of Naypyitaw.
Aurecon is providing mechanical, electrical, civil and structural services.
The Naypyitaw Mixed Development is made up of two nine-storey condominium blocks, two storeys of cafes and shops lining both sides of an internal promenade, with the street extending to the second level at certain areas. A “floating” glass canopy acts as a shelter. A three-storey bank and office block sits on the eastern side of the promenade.
The site sits on a seismic zone 3 so we designed it for seismic zone 4.
As the power and water supplies in the area are unpredictable and sewage drains non-existent, we had to provide for generators, wells and septic tanks in the design.
Construction of the super-structure is expected to start in May 2014 and was targeted for completion by December 2015.
