Aurecon was instrumental in designing an on-site trigeneration plant. Gas engines allow the building to capture and use waste heat from the engines, reducing the load on the electricity grid by 25% during peak demand times.
A curved building layout necessitated a complex lighting and façade design. High performance glazing was used in conjunction with a combination of fixed and automated shading devices, which were optimised for each façade orientation, maximising passive efficiency of the design.
Completed in 2011, it is the largest building in Sydney to achieve a six star Green Star rating with the Green Building Council of Australia, setting a benchmark for commercial office sustainable designs.
