Aurecon was instrumental in designing an on-site trigeneration plant. Gas engines allow the building to capture and use waste heat from the engines, reducing the load on the electricity grid by 25% during peak demand times.
A curved building layout necessitated a complex lighting and façade design. High performance glazing was used in conjunction with a combination of fixed and automated shading devices, which were optimised for each façade orientation, maximising passive efficiency of the design.
It is the largest building in Sydney to achieve a six star Green Star rating with the Green Building Council of Australia, setting a benchmark for commercial office sustainable designs.
