Oil and gas jetty expansion for Thai Oil Public Company Limited, Thailand

Aurecon’s jetty expansion increases capacity of Thailand’s largest refinery

Aurecon has designed the expansion of the Thai Oil Jetty for Thailand’s largest refinery. The expansion extends the jetty by 2.6 kilometres and increases the refinery’s production to 80 000 tonnes.

The project involved the FEED and Detailed Design for a new platform with loading facilities, dolphin with berthing facility, jetty trestles, pipe rack, pipelines, pipe supports and cathodic protection.

The new berths, 7 and 8, will make it possible for large vessels – between 3 000 and 80 000 DWT – to call at the port, supplementing the existing facilities of four jetties with six berths for ships in the range of 500 to 5 000 DWT. As part of its role, Aurecon also designed infrastructure for the possible additional future expansion of the jetty to increase Thai Oil’s sulphur export capabilities. Piling work started in October 2017 with construction expected to be complete during 2019.

Aurecon has more than 70 years of experience delivering ports and marine projects across the full project lifecycle for port users, operators and authorities, miners and oil companies, as well as contractors and funders/donors.
