Upgrading of engineering services and sinkhole repairs at Waterkloof Air Force Base, South Africa

Aurecon to upgrade all wet services for the Waterkloof Air Force Base

Aurecon was engaged to upgrade civil engineering services and repair sinkholes at the Waterkloof Air Force Base. This involved upgrading the water supply, sewer reticulation, stormwater drainage, roadworks and emergency water storage reservoir, as well as undertaking sinkhole rehabilitation and repair.

Aurecon investigated the scope of work required to repair sinkholes and rehabilitate wet services, roads, runways, other paved areas, storm water systems and mass earthworks (shaping), in order to prevent future sinkholes forming.

Aurecon also completed an investigation into fire-fighting requirements for military bases for the National Department of Public Works.  Having completed the investigation, Aurecon, in association with Copad Engineers, will upgrade all wet services not included as part of previous contracts carried out on the Waterkloof Air Force Base.
