Chorus is New Zealand’s largest telecommunications infrastructure company. Aurecon was appointed to a three-year engineering services consultant panel in 2010 prior to Chorus’ demerger from Telecom in late 2011.
Since that time Aurecon has grown its service offering significantly into both organisations and in 2013 was reappointed to Chorus’ consultancy panel for another three years.
By delivering quality that combines a strong project governance and management framework, together with Aurecon’s global engineering skills and capabilities, an outstanding client relationship has been created which is delivering real value to our key client Chorus.
Aurecon is now providing Chorus with engineering design and project management services on a broad range of projects. This includes exchange upgrades such as power, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), DC and generators. We have assisted Chorus with major data centre expansion projects, and various programmes included Site Acquisition, Environment and Design (SAED) mobile phone tower deployments, national building structural assessments, energy management and ultra-fast broadband (UFB). As part of the Christchurch rebuild following the 2011 earthquake, Aurecon has assisted Chorus with several projects and provided detailed structural inspections of their assets in the region.
