Verno graduated in Civil Engineering and has 20 years of experience as a water resources engineer. In 2002, he obtained his PhD in water engineering from the University of Stellenbosch. He is currently the Design Director for Water Resources Management in the Aurecon Group.
He is based in Cape Town, South Africa, and has worked extensively on various African projects. His interests include catchment hydrology, flood hydrology, integrated water resources analysis, planning and management, decision support systems, flood risk and hazard assessments, river hydraulics and environmental flow requirements.
