16 December 2013 - Power generation expert Paul Gleeson has joined Aurecon as the manager of its Energy unit in Brisbane, focussing on aligning service delivery with client needs and project objectives.
Paul was previously General Manager for Parsons Brinckerhoff’s (PB) Asia Pacific power engineering group where he was responsible for the management and performance of multiple business units and teams.
A mechanical engineer with 18 years of experience on major power generation projects in Australia, New Zealand and Asia including many projects in Queensland, Paul has acquired considerable local knowledge and expertise through managing multidisciplinary teams across all project stages, from project development to feasibility studies, concept and detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
As project director for PB’s role on the AUD 63 million Leichhardt Power Station in Mount Isa, Paul managed the design deliverables for Leighton Contractors as part of the engineering, procurement and construction contract. From 2006 to 2010 Paul was heavily involved in the 140 MW Condamine Power Station in the Surat Basin, managing the project during the development stage and directing the project during the delivery stages in an owner’s engineer capacity. Paul has also led a number of large scale solar projects through development and feasibility stages for both private and public sector clients.
“Our clients will benefit from Paul’s strong track record delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions across a variety of power technologies, including gas fired generation, co-generation, renewable energy and conventional thermal,” Aurecon Energy Services Leader Peter Hulbert said.
