AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

  • The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) again recognised Aurecon as an employer committed to promoting gender equality in Australian workplaces with an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation in 2019. Aurecon has been assessed positively since receiving its first Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation in 2016. WGEA awards the citation to organisations which demonstrate, among other things, action towards removing gender pay gaps and ongoing pay parity. Other citation criteria are in relation to leadership-led gender equality strategy, learning and development opportunities, flexible working, supporting those with caring responsibilities, employee consultation on gender equality matters and gender targets. As a Workplace Gender Equality Agency Pay Equity Ambassador, William Cox, Aurecon’s Chief Executive Officer, has a commitment to ensuring like-for-like pay parity within the business and championing pay parity within Aurecon’s external network.

RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Launched the Aurecon Attributes – the way we stand out from the crowd.  Individually and collectively they are the catalyst that unleashes the true power of Aurecon. They are the reason clients will want to work with us. The attributes represent a new way to attract the best talent, develop and grow our people and ensure Aurecon is future ready. The Attributes are ‘who’ we are.
  • Conducted a design-jam to redefine Aurecon’s culture and values and co-create and shape six Aurecon Principles and launched them to the business.
  • Launched Catalyst, Aurecon’s new development framework, which allows us to develop a future ready workforce. Catalyst includes three key streams:
    1.    Technical Mastery, incorporating Design Academy
    2.    Leadership Academy
    3.    Future Ready
  • Embedded Yes Flex, Aurecon’s all position flexible working platform. Yes Flex empowers employees to embrace flexible daily start and end times across their working week.
  • Leveraged from the success of Ascend, Aurecon’s leadership advancement programme for high potential women, in Australia and embedded the programme globally.
  • Achieved gender representation targets in some regions, including 30% in Australia.
  • Designed and began rolling out Aurecon’s Inclusive Leadership experience to support line managers to lead their teams inclusively and take advantage of increased creativity and innovation.

  • 100% of performance reviews were completed. 96% of performance reviews are conducted within time frame.
  • Aurecon uses recognised outplacement programmes to provide transition assistance for continued employability and the management of career endings resulting from retirement or termination of employment. These are tailored to either redundancy or retirement scenarios.
  • Aurecon does not have any staff covered by collective bargaining agreements.

CURRENT FOCUS

  • Rollout of further Workday modules to create an integrated platform incorporating recruitment, leave, learning and other areas
  • Implementation of our new Reward Strategy, including our Future Ready Fund, which is being piloted in a number of our groups this year.  Depending on the outcome of the pilot, we plan to roll this out globally in FY20 
  • Re-design of our approach to recruitment and onboarding
  • Continued focus on leadership training, high potential identification and succession planning
