Aurecon voted one of top Engineering/Technology companies to work for in Universum survey

Global engineering and infrastructure advisory company Aurecon was ranked Number 10 in the Engineering/Technology sector of Universum

Aurecon joins Universum's list of most attractive employers for professionals and students from the Engineering/Technology sector for 2018

28 June 2018  Universum, a branding firm, recently released its Most Attractive Employer rankings for 2018. Global engineering and infrastructure advisory company Aurecon was ranked Number 10 in the Engineering/Technology sector for professionals, making it one of the most attractive employers to work for in South Africa in this specific industry.

“We are proud to be the only consulting engineering firm in the Top 10 for professionals in the Engineering/Technology sector, as well as being the only consulting engineering firm in the Top 20 for students. Attracting and retaining top talent is at the core of our business strategy,” says Ferdi Nell, Aurecon Managing Director, Africa.

“Aurecon has established a strong employer brand over the years and we continue to invest in our staff. When people join Aurecon, they know they will be working on some of the most challenging and complex projects in the world. In particular, they know they will be mentored by technical experts and that their voices will be heard, while being given opportunities to future-proof African cities and communities,” says Nell.

The Most Attractive Employer rankings list companies that South African professionals and students are most keen to work for. Over 22 000 local professionals were surveyed for the ranking and the questions they were asked covered a wide range of attributes that make an employer attractive, such as work-life balance, future employment, and career goals. Employees were surveyed in key sector categories such as engineering, technology, natural sciences, business and commerce.

Other companies who made the Top 10 list in the Engineering/Technology category for professionals include Google, Sasol, Microsoft, CSIR, South African Breweries and the BMW Group.

“The standard employee contract and benefits, and offering a career from the cradle to retirement should no longer be the focus of any future-ready firm that wishes to attract and retain top talent,” comments Dean Naidoo, Aurecon People Leader, Africa. “At Aurecon, our business is about people and getting to the heart of their aspirations is important to us. It is about setting our people up for success, so that our business remains successful, sustainable and relevant. The employee of the future desires flexibility, fulfilment, recognition and wants to make a difference. Aurecon is about agility, innovation, and an unrelenting commitment to creating a legacy, giving us the licence to become an Inspiration for Afrika. We look for individuals that embrace disruption but at the same time bring ideas to life.”

“It’s an honour to be listed along with brands that are leading the way in terms of technology, engineering, and innovation. At Aurecon, we believe we need a diverse set of attributes and skills to compete in tomorrow’s world. We look for the most agile and disruptive and this why we embrace diversity, ” concludes Nell.
